Sindh government on Monday once again changed school timings in the province due to a severe cold wave.
As per details, a notification shared by the Sindh Education and Literacy Department said classes in all state-run and private schools in the province will commence from 9:00 am onwards, however, school timings for both government and private schools in Karachi will remain at 8:30 am which were announced to a day earlier.
Earlier a notification shared by the Sindh Education and Literacy Department had said classes in all state-run and private schools would commence from 8:30 am onwards, however, in the new notification timings for schools located outside Karachi have changed from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
It said the decision has been made in the wake of a prevailing wave of severe cold in the province, the notification said. The new timings shall remain enforced till January 31, 2024.
Schools in the southeastern region commenced on January 1 after winter break that started on December 22, 2023.
School timings are expected to change in other parts of the country as the cold snap tightens. The winter holidays in Punjab and KP will end on January 9.
