Zoom – the popular video conferencing service – also experienced a pretty large, global outage.
Down Detector also showed a large number of reports. It peaked at over 55,000 at 3:15PM ET and has since lowered as Zoom has resolved the outage as of 4PM ET.
Users received an ‘Error 50003′ message while trying to open the website and mobile application of Zoom.
Down Detector, a platform that tracks such outages based on users’ report, showed that more than 67,000 people reported problems with Zoom, as of this writing.
The outage started around an hour ago, rising to as much as 11,735 in about 15 minutes. As of this writing, the outage shot up to more than 67,000 users, with a rising curve of reports.
The classification of reports on Down Detector showed 46% of the users reported problems with the website, while 39% said that the app was not working. 15% faced issues while trying to log in.
Zoom Communications Inc. is a publicly traded company founded by Eric Yuan in 2011. Yuan serves as the chairman and CEO and remains the largest individual shareholder, owning approximately 22% of the company.
