The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced its intention to implement a Rs15,000 fine for drivers violating one-way traffic regulations on major roads. This measure aims to enhance road safety and reduce the frequency of traffic violations.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the KMC declared its plan to penalize individuals driving against traffic flow on main city roads. The enforcement of these fines will be carried out by city wardens to ensure compliance.
To formalize this initiative, a resolution backing the proposal is set to be presented in the upcoming City Council session for approval and execution. The move comes as part of directives issued by Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, supported by the Karachi Task Force under his leadership.
Mayor Wahab emphasized the importance of taking firm action against one-way violations to prevent accidents and improve traffic management across Karachi. He urged drivers to adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with enforcement officers to create safer roads for everyone.
