There is a risk of increased heat intensity from today in several areas of the country, including Islamabad. The affected regions include Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan, as reported by national media on Sunday.
According to details, the Meteorological Department has stated that for the next five days, daytime temperatures are expected to rise by 6 to 8 degrees Celsius above normal. Heat will also increase in central and upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir.
According to a report, from Monday to Friday, temperatures in various cities of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to rise by 4 to 6 degrees due to the heatwave, with the possibility of dust storms and gusty winds during the day.
On Saturday, the highest temperatures in the country were recorded in Nawabshah, Hyderabad, and Dadu, where the mercury rose to 43 degrees Celsius and is expected to increase further in the coming days. The Meteorological Department stated that temperatures in many cities remained below 40 degrees Celsius.
Specifically, temperatures were recorded at 39°C in Karachi, 37°C in Dera Ismail Khan and Bahawalpur, 35°C in Peshawar and Lahore, and 33°C in Islamabad and Quetta. Authorities have advised the public to avoid going outdoors unnecessarily due to the intensifying heat.
