ISLAMABAD: Former President Asif Ali Zardari has said that after the election of Shehbaz Sharif as Prime Minister, it is hoped that Imran Khan will play a democratic role by becoming Leader of Opposition but he will not get NRO.
After the Supreme Court’s decision on the no-confidence motion against PM Imran Khan, Asif Ali Zardari said that he would welcome Imran Khan to become the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
“I hope Imran Khan will play a democratic role as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly,” he said. After the Supreme Court decision, Asif Ali Zardari said that the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan would be successful and there would be no NRO for him.

It may be recalled that the Supreme Court of Pakistan while ruling on the legality of the Deputy Speaker’s decision and the President’s self-notice case regarding the dissolution of the National Assembly, had declared the Deputy Speaker’s ruling unconstitutional.
The decision also declared unconstitutional the adjournment of the National Assembly for an indefinite period. The no-confidence motion will remain pending, dissolving the assemblies was also against the law, dissolving the National Assembly was also against the law, and the National Assembly will be restored to its old position.
