Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is facilitating students traveling from Pakistan to China by offering a generous 20% discount, aiming to ease their air travel experience.
A spokesperson from the national carrier informed the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) that the baggage allowance has been significantly increased by up to 60 kilograms.
Presently, the airline operates a weekly flight from China to Pakistan every Sunday, covering the route from Islamabad to Beijing and vice versa.
The discount is not limited to students traveling to China; those returning home for summer break or after completing their degrees are also eligible.
Ali Imran, a Pakistani researcher, notes that numerous Pakistani students are enrolled in various universities across China’s cities, making it advantageous for them to utilize PIA’s discount along with the augmented baggage allowance.
Last month, the airline also introduced discounted fares for Saudi Arabian residents and individuals holding work visas, with reductions of 30% and 20%, respectively.
This discount was applicable to passengers traveling from Pakistan to Jeddah and Madinah for Umrah between April 7 and 11, while travelers to Dammam and Riyadh could also benefit from the reduced fares.
