PESHAWAR: Former JUI-F senator Haji Ghulam Ali is likely to become new Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazl-ur- Rehman has nominated him for the post, a reliable sources revealed on Sunday.
Ghulam Ali is the father in law of Fazl-ur-Rehman daughter. He is also a famous businessman of Peshawar and has severed as FPCCI president in the past.
According to sources, at the time of no-trust motion against ousted Prime minister Imran Khan, allied political parties, particularly PML-N, had promised JUI-F that post of KPK Governor will be given to it.
The post of Governor KPK is vacant after Shah Farman of PTI tendered his resignation as governor soon after no trust motion succeeded against Imran Khan in National Assembly.
It should be noted that, President Arif Alvi on Sunday approved the summary of Mohammad Kamran Tessori’s appointment as governor of Sindh.
The Sindh governor post had been vacant since PTI’s Imran Ismail stepped down from the position in April 2022 following the ouster of Imran Khan as prime minister.
