An 18-year-old employee died after allegedly being tortured by a shopkeeper for taking extra leave on Eid in the Manawan area of Lahore, media reported on Monday.
The police have registered a case and arrested the accused.
According to the police, the deceased youth worked at a milk shop and had taken a few days off on the occasion of Eid, upon which the shop owner got angry and severely tortured him.
The injured youth was immediately shifted to the hospital for medical attention, but he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.
The Manawan police took timely action and arrested the shop owner and further investigation is underway, while a case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of the victim’s father.
The people of the area have expressed deep sorrow over the incident and demanded justice for the affected family.
