Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s mother, Kim Fernandez, passed away on Sunday at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, as reported by Indian media.
Jacqueline had been by her mother’s side in the days following Kim’s heart stroke on March 24. The actress even missed her performance at the IPL opening ceremony in Guwahati last month to be with her mother.
Kim Fernandez, of Malaysian and Canadian descent, worked as an air hostess in Bahrain, where she met Elroy Fernandez, a Sri Lankan Burgher, in the 1980s after he relocated to Bahrain to escape the civil unrest in Sri Lanka.
Jacqueline, born in 1985, is the youngest of her parents’ four children, which includes two brothers and one sister. After the news of Kim’s passing, Jacqueline, along with her father and other celebrities, was seen visiting the hospital.
She made her Bollywood debut in the 2009 fantasy action-comedy Aladdin. She has since starred in successful films such as Housefull (2010), Murder 2 (2011), Race 2 (2013), Kick (2014), Housefull 3 (2016), and Judwaa 2 (2017).
