Aamir Khan is poised to make a much-anticipated comeback to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, a new film slated for release on June 20, 2025.
Directed by RS Prasanna, the film is described as a spiritual successor to Khan’s critically acclaimed Taare Zameen Par, and is expected to once again highlight themes of disability—this time through a fresh, emotionally resonant, and uplifting narrative.
According to Pinkvilla, post-production for the film has been completed, with the editing phase now wrapped up. Aamir Khan has shifted his attention toward an extensive promotional campaign. While an earlier release date of May 30 was under consideration, the decision was made to launch the film on June 20, ensuring a two-week window without major box office competition.
A source close to the production shared, “Aamir has immense faith in the storytelling of Sitaare Zameen Par. The film reflects his signature blend of humor, emotion, and drama, which he believes will connect deeply with audiences.”

Following the lukewarm reception of Laal Singh Chadha, Khan is looking to reestablish his presence with this emotionally driven project. Speaking earlier during Republic Day celebrations in Gujarat, the actor remarked, “My next film as a lead is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are aiming for a release towards the end of the year, ideally around Christmas. It’s an entertaining film with a story I truly believe in. Filming has already begun.”
With strong thematic undercurrents and Aamir Khan’s renewed focus on content-driven cinema, Sitaare Zameen Par is being positioned as a major cinematic event of 2025.
