Karachi Kings triumphed over Quetta Gladiators with a commanding 56-run victory in the eighth match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 at National Bank Stadium on Friday.
Chasing a target of 175, Quetta Gladiators faltered early, losing six wickets for just 47 runs, and struggled to regain momentum. They ultimately managed 119 for 9 in their allotted 20 overs.
Karachi Kings’ Hassan Ali delivered an outstanding bowling performance, taking three key wickets, while Mohammad Nabi and Abbas Afridi contributed with two dismissals each.
Electing to bat first, the Kings set a formidable target of 175 runs, losing seven wickets in their allotted 20 overs. James Vince played a key role with a solid half-century, while Mohammad Nabi’s fiery finish added valuable runs to the scoreboard.
The Kings made a blazing start, amassing 60 runs in just 5.4 overs. Skipper David Warner and Tim Seifert showcased aggressive batting during the early phase. Warner contributed a quick-fire 31 off 20 balls, including five boundaries, before his dismissal ended their partnership.
Quetta Gladiators managed to regain control with the introduction of spin bowling. Despite the opposition’s efforts, James Vince held firm, scoring his second fifty of the season and building a 34-run stand with Irfan Khan. Irfan’s knock of 17 off 12 deliveries featured a six before he was dismissed.
For Quetta Gladiators, Ali Majid stood out as the most successful bowler, claiming two wickets for 29 runs in four overs. Mohammad Amir, Abrar Ahmed, and Saud Shakeel also chipped in with a wicket each.
