RAWALPINDI: Two Army pilots were martyred on Monday as their aircraft crashed during on a routine operational training mission near Gujrat.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the deaths by stating that both pilots, Major Umer (instructor pilot), a resident of Gujarat, and Lieutenant Fiazan (student pilot) resident of Kalar Kahar, Chakwal were aboard the aircraft and lost their lives in the crash.
Police and security forces immediately rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. Furthermore, no loss of life or property has been reported on the ground.
Last month, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Wing Commander Noman Akram embraced martyrdom when the F-16 jet crashed near Islamabad’s Shakarparian area. A PAF aircraft was on a rehearsal for the ceremony of 23rd March when it crash-landed near the area.
