ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has praised Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and said that the right sectors have been focused on the budget for the next financial year.
In his message on Twitter, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that due to flood relief, rehabilitation, disruptions in the global supply chain, and geo-strategic changes across the country, constant challenges arose, during which budgeting was a difficult task.

The prime minister added that the government has provided relief to public sector employees and pensioners in the form of pay raise of up to 35% and 17.5% respectively, and increased the minimum wage to Rs. 32000.

The Prime Minister said that the budget for the new financial year marks the beginning of fixing the long-term ills of the economy. The PDM government prioritized the right sectors that have the potential to accelerate economic growth and attract investment.
According to him, the economy direly needs reforms, which, in turn, can be undertaken in a stable political environment, for economic development is intrinsically linked to political stability. “It is here that the Charter of Economy appears to be the only way forward for our political parties to achieve prosperity for our people,” he wrote.
