LAHORE: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has announced to open all ticket booking offices of the railway to facilitate the citizens.
Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed while addressing a press conference said that all train schedules will also be reviewed. According to the minister of railways, the tickets will be available at discounted rates for those who will make an online booking.
The minister maintained that the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be strictly followed at the booking offices. “As many as ten trains including Hazara and Rehman Baba have been delayed due to the growing cases of coronavirus,” he said.
Last week, he announced to operate five more trains by completing all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Sheikh Rasheed said, “We have decided to restore five more trains in order to avoid loss during the coronavirus plague.”
“We cannot adjust more than 60 percent of people in trains and that is why we are not making more trains functional,” he explained.
According to him, the operations of Sir Syed Express, Karachi Express, Bahauddin Zakariya, Shalimar Express, and Multan-Karachi railcar will be resumed soon.
