KARACHI: More than Rs5 million was stolen from a locker at a supermarket near Teen Talwar in Clifton, one of the city’s upscale areas, during a reported criminal incident.
According to police, a man and a woman were allegedly involved in the theft. The suspects reportedly used keys to the supermarket’s locks and the locker to gain access before taking the substantial amount of cash and fleeing the premises.
Police said they have obtained CCTV footage of the incident, which purportedly shows both suspects opening the locker, taking the money and leaving the supermarket.
According to police officials, the suspects were already in possession of the keys, raising suspicions that they may have had information about the supermarket’s internal operations and the locker.
Police are investigating the incident from various angles. Efforts are also underway to identify and arrest the suspects with the help of the CCTV footage.
