PESHAWAR: A horrifying and deeply disturbing incident has taken place in the Sheikhan area on the outskirts of Peshawar, where a suspect was allegedly involved in the desecration of the graves of young girls at a local cemetery for an extended period. According to local residents, a man had allegedly been digging up the graves of young girls at the Sheikhan cemetery for approximately one month and removing their bodies. This morning, residents reportedly caught him red-handed while he was digging up a grave and taking out the body of a young girl. He was subsequently handed over to police personnel at the Sheikhan police post.
Videos and posts circulating on social media contain allegations by local residents that the suspect was not merely digging up graves but was also allegedly sexually abusing the bodies of deceased girls. Residents have described the alleged acts as an extremely serious violation of moral and religious values and have demanded severe punishment if the allegations are proven.
According to police, the arrested suspect has been identified as Salman and is said to be a citizen of Afghanistan. He was initially taken into custody at the Sheikhan police post and was later transferred to Budh Bher Police Station.
