ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to continue mutual consultation on significant regional and bilateral issues including global pandemic.
The agreement came during a telephonic conversation today (Sunday) between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Saudi Counterpart Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud.
The Foreign Minister inquired about the health of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and prayed for a speedy recovery of Saudi King after a successful surgery. In this regard, the Saudi foreign minister expressed his gratitude to Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
The Saudi foreign minister informed that King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz was recovering at a fast pace after a successful surgery was performed on him.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi assured that Pakistan will continue all possible cooperation in safeguarding the territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia. He also apprised of the effective measures taken by Pakistan to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
“Prime Minister Imran Khan’s smart lockdown strategy has not only reduced the spread of the pandemic, but also significantly declined the death rate in the country,” he told Saudi counterpart.
FM Qureshi also condemned the recent missile attacks by the militias on Saudi defense installations and expressed solidarity with the Saudi government on the behalf of Pakistan. The foreign ministers also discussed the forthcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.
