FAISALABAD: An 11-year-old maid was severely tortured and injured allegedly by her employers in Faisalabad over petty mistakes.
According to sources, the 11-year-old girl suffered deep wounds on the upper part of her head when the employer allegedly tortured her with a hard object.
Sources further said the employers used to torture the maid over petty mistakes. The employer was influential and police officials were reluctant to take action against him, sources alleged.
On the other hand, police registered a case against the accused in the Madina Town Police Station. The police sources said that the case has been registered on the complaint of a Child Protection Bureau.
The bureau came into action after a video had surfaced of a family beating the child, police said. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the suspects that tortured the child, police added.
Meanwhile, Child Protection Bureau Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said that the 11-year-old girl is a domestic worker employed by the accused family.
The child showed marks of torture on her body and her limbs were swollen because of being beaten while there was a deep gash on her wrist, she added. The chairperson also confirmed that a case had been registered against the man and his wife.
