QUETTA: In a swift and decisive response to the recent surge in violence, security forces have successfully completed a major clearance operation in the Mangi Dam area of Ziarat district, eliminating 15 terrorists, provincial officials confirmed.

The intelligence-based joint operation was launched by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC). According to Shahid Rind, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, the security personnel systematically cordoned off Mangi Dam and its surrounding mountainous pockets. Trapped by the tight perimeter, the heavily armed militants attempted to flee, but were aggressively pursued and neutralized.

Lauding the operational success, Shahid Rind stated that the “elements challenging the writ of the state have met their deserved end.” He emphasized that the government will not tolerate any safe havens for terrorists within the province.

“The sacrifices of our martyred personnel in Ziarat will not go to waste,” Rind declared, affirming that the state will respond with full force against foreign-backed networks. “Every drop of our martyrs’ blood will be accounted for, and there will be no compromise on the peace, stability, and protection of the people of Balochistan.”

The advisor added that the professional alertness of the police, CTD, and paramilitary forces successfully thwarted the nefarious designs of the attackers, reaffirming that the complete eradication of terrorism remains the administration’s topmost priority.

The heavy clearance operation at Mangi Dam directly follows a catastrophic security breach in the same area earlier, which exposed the stark vulnerabilities facing frontline forces in Balochistan.

9 cops martyred in Ziarat attack

Just last night,, a police detachment of 30 to 35 personnel was targeted in a brutal, hours-long siege by terrorists in the Kach Mangi Phase 3 area. Despite a valiant defense, the heavily outmaneuvered police contingent ran entirely out of ammunition while waiting for reinforcements that did not arrive in time.

The intense firefight resulted in the martyrdom of at least 09 police personnel, whose bodies were later moved to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Ziarat. Initial reports also indicated the high-profile abduction of senior police officials, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ziarat and two Station House Officers (SHOs).
