Facebook is testing a new feature that will allow users to see the number of views their posts receive, giving them greater insight into the performance and reach of their content.
According to reports, Meta is currently rolling out the feature to a limited group of users as part of a testing phase. The view count will be displayed directly on the post, but it will only be visible to the user who originally shared the content.
The company says the feature is designed to help users better understand which posts are reaching a wider audience and what type of content generates the most views.
At present, most Facebook users gauge the success of their posts through likes, comments, and shares. However, Meta believes that likes alone do not provide a complete picture of a post’s popularity or overall engagement.
Across Meta’s platforms, particularly Facebook and Instagram, recommendation algorithms increasingly surface content based on users’ interests rather than only from accounts they follow.
As a result, users are now frequently shown posts from creators and pages they do not follow.
The feature remains in the testing phase, and Meta has not yet announced when or if it will be rolled out to all users worldwide.
