KARACHI: K-Electric, the power utility serving Karachi, has announced a schedule for temporary power outages in various parts of the city on October 8, 2026, due to maintenance work.
According to the schedule issued by K-Electric, electricity supply will remain suspended at different feeders for varying periods during the day. In some areas, outages are scheduled to begin around 8 a.m., while power interruptions at certain locations may continue until 11 p.m.
Under the schedule, the 7-A RMU feeder will remain without power from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., while electricity supply from the Al-Burj, Al-Ghouri and Ali Brohi Goth RMU feeders will be suspended from 8:59 a.m. to 5:59 p.m.
Similarly, power supply to areas served by the Baba Wilayat, Bilal Coach, Karachi Scholar RMU and Kawish Crown feeders, among others, will be affected at different times due to maintenance activities.
In areas served by the Pak Show and Saleem Industries RMU feeders, the scheduled outage will run from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., while the Globe Textile feeder is scheduled to remain without power from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, electricity supply in areas served by the Chishtia Floor and Jiwani Traders RMU feeders is scheduled to remain suspended from 10:59 a.m. to 8:59 p.m.
According to K-Electric, maintenance-related outages will also affect several other feeders, including Khurkhera RMU, Post Office Society, Wells Area and International Gym.
The utility has advised residents to take the scheduled outage times for their respective areas into account and make the necessary arrangements in advance. The duration of the outage will vary depending on the area and the relevant feeder.
