SARGODHA: A domestic dispute in Mouza Wadhi, on the outskirts of Sargodha, allegedly resulted in the death of a man after his son opened fire on him.
According to initial reports, an argument took place between the accused, identified as Mazhar, and his father, Muhammad Hayat, over an unspecified matter. The dispute reportedly escalated, following which Mazhar allegedly pulled out a pistol and fired four shots at his father’s chest.
Muhammad Hayat sustained gunshot wounds and died at the scene. The accused allegedly fled the area following the incident.
The incident has caused concern and grief among residents of the area.
After receiving information about the shooting, local police reached the scene and shifted the deceased’s body to a hospital for necessary legal and medico-legal procedures.
Police registered a case on the complaint of the deceased’s family and formed teams to locate and arrest the accused. Raids are reportedly being conducted at various locations as part of the investigation.
Police officials said efforts are underway to arrest the accused and proceed with the case in accordance with the law. Further investigation is also being conducted to determine the circumstances and motive behind the incident.
