LAHORE: The official schedule for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country’s biggest and most popular cricket league, has been announced. Filled with excitement and thrill, the tournament will take place next year from March 18 to May 2, featuring eight teams competing for the title for the second consecutive year.
The decision was finalized during an important meeting of the HBL PSL Governing Council held in London, which was attended by the owners and senior representatives of all eight franchises. The window for PSL 12 was locked in through mutual consensus during these consultations.
It is worth noting that PSL season 11 marked a major shift by introducing a player auction system instead of the traditional player draft, drawing a record-breaking crowd of over 32,000 spectators live at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore for the final.
PSL Chief Executive Salman Naseer stated that cricket fans across Pakistan and around the world are eagerly anticipating PSL 12. “Our goal is to live up to the fans’ expectations in 2027. The announcement of the dates is just the first step; all eight teams will enter the field with even greater preparation and passion to claim the trophy,” he said.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also shared that announcements regarding direct signings and player auctions for PSL 12 are expected next month, while detailed schedules, venues, and ticket sales information will be released at a later date.
Notably, in the previous edition of the PSL, Peshawar Zalmi delivered a stellar performance to claim the title after a long wait of nine years. In the final, Peshawar Zalmi defeated the tournament debutants, Hyderabad Kingsmen, by five wickets to lift the trophy.
