KARACHI: The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan has risen to 4,262 after new cases were reported in the country.
According to provided details by health officials, 2,171 coronavirus cases were registered in Punjab, 1,036 in Sindh, 560 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 212 in Balochistan, 213 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 102 in Islamabad and 28 in Azad Kashmir.
As many as 63 people have died of COVID-19 since its outbreak in the country, which includes 20 in Sindh, 17 in Punjab, 18 in KP, Balochistan 02, and 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Meanwhile, 445 people have recovered.
The worldwide number of officially confirmed fatalities from the novel coronavirus now stands at above 88,505. More than 1.5 million declared cases have been registered in 213 countries since the epidemic that first emerged in China in December 2019. Of these cases, at least 330,589 are now considered recovered.
