KARACHI: Police have busted a three-member interprovincial gang involved in various criminal activities in Karachi and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.
Police conducted a raid in Gadap City of district Malir and arrested the gang members. They were involved in criminal activities in Rahimyar Khan, Punjab and in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Sachal Goth and Super Highway areas of Karachi.
Police received a tip-off and conducted a raid on the superhighway where the gang was busted. Arms and ammunition used in criminal activities were recovered from their possession. A rickshaw used by the criminals was also seized by police.
Malir Police said that criminals use to escape in the rickshaw after every incident. The three were habitual criminals and had several cases lodged against them. Police have summoned their criminal record and informed Punjab police.
Malir police spokesman said their criminal record is being received from Punjab. The criminals have been identified as Shoaib, Sarwar and Zawar and further interrogation is underway to know their criminal activities.
