NEW YORK: Pakistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a significant agreement aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties, under which visa requirements have been waived for holders of diplomatic and official passports from both countries.
According to sources, the signing ceremony for the agreement was held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session. On the occasion, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held an important meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, during which the two sides discussed bilateral matters as well as the regional situation.
During the meeting, the two leaders formally signed the visa waiver agreement. The development was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar through his verified account on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Expressing his pleasure over the agreement, Ishaq Dar said that finalising the accord with Saudi Foreign Minister and his “brother,” Prince Faisal bin Farhan, was a reflection of the growing trust between the two countries.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agreement will significantly facilitate high-level visits, official travel and institutional exchanges between the two brotherly countries.
Ishaq Dar further said that the decision represents a significant step towards further strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership and expanding people-to-people contacts between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
