LAHORE: The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Justice Aalia Neelum, has reportedly summoned the Inspector General of Punjab Police after expressing displeasure during a hearing over the unclear wording of an FIR.
According to a post shared on social media platform X by senior journalist Afzal Sial, SP Abdullah appeared before the court during the proceedings but was reportedly unable to read the FIR registered by his own subordinate staff member.

The social media post quoted the Chief Justice as expressing strong displeasure over the situation and saying, “The FIR is not being read; I cannot understand what has been written. SP sahib, read the FIR.”
According to the report, Justice Aalia Neelum expressed concern over the matter and summoned the Punjab Inspector General of Police to appear before the court the following day.
The court also reportedly made strong observations regarding the unclear and difficult-to-understand text of the FIR. Justice Aalia Neelum was quoted as saying, “The entire Punjab is in a mess; this is the situation in Punjab.”
According to Afzal Sial’s post, the Chief Justice further commented on the handwriting in the FIR, saying that FIRs are often not legible enough to be read.
The report further stated that the court expressed displeasure over the appearance of the FIR’s text, with the Chief Justice reportedly observing that the FIR contained markings resembling flies and that the size of the “flies” was also large.
