QUETTA: Security forces have detained 103 Afghan nationals, including women and children, during an intelligence-based operation near the Dana Sar Bypass in Balochistan, according to security and official sources.
According to sources, all those detained were handed over to the relevant police authorities after the completion of initial legal procedures. Further action against them will be taken under the Foreigners Act, the sources said.
Intelligence and security sources claimed that the individuals were linked to a network of human smugglers. The network was allegedly attempting to facilitate their illegal travel from Pakistan to Iran and subsequently onward to Europe.
The development comes amid an ongoing nationwide crackdown against undocumented migrants. Officials said that, with the latest detentions, the total number of Afghan nationals apprehended from the area over the past week has reached 129.
Government authorities have reiterated their resolve to continue such operations to ensure national security and strengthen border management.
