KARACHI: Power supply to the Pipri Pumping Station has been restored, allowing the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) to resume water distribution to the city.
According to a spokesperson for the Water Corporation, K-Electric restored electricity to the Pipri Pumping Station after an outage lasting approximately four and a half hours.
The spokesperson said the power interruption resulted in a water shortage of around 35 million gallons in Karachi.
Following the restoration of electricity, the Water Corporation resumed water pumping from the Pipri facility. Efforts are now underway to normalize water supply across the city and address the shortfall caused by the disruption.
The Water Corporation said it is focusing on maintaining the water supply system and taking necessary measures to make up for the shortage resulting from the power outage at the pumping station.
