The Punjab government is introducing a new scheme to facilitate student commuting, with a groundbreaking plan to provide motorcycles to orphaned students.
According to the announcement, the distribution of free motorcycles to orphans has already begun in Punjab.
Punjab’s Transport Secretary, Qazi, emphasized the dual benefits of this initiative, highlighting that it not only supports students in need but also promotes environmental sustainability by reducing smog through the use of electric motorcycles. “These electric motorcycles will play a key role in addressing our environmental challenges,” he said.
Morevoer, the program provides students with the flexibility to choose their preferred motorcycle model, enabling them to select a vehicle that best meets their needs and preferences.
How to Apply
To simplify the process and ensure convenience, dedicated booths have been set up at 11 universities. These booths are designed to assist students with important tasks such as opening bank accounts and completing other required formalities.
To further support students, the program also offers an interest-free installment plan for purchasing motorcycles.
