The Punjab government has once again postponed matriculation examinations due to floods and heavy rains across the province. The exams will now begin from September 29, 2025.
The decision affects all education boards in Punjab, including the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore.
The authorities said the step was taken in view of the ongoing flood situation and disruptions caused by continuous rainfall, which have made it difficult to conduct examinations on time.
Earlier, the boards had rescheduled the exams for September 10, 2025, but the worsening weather and infrastructure challenges forced another delay.
With this latest decision, students will now have nearly three more weeks to prepare before the revised exam schedule begins.
Education officials have assured students and parents that the examinations will be held under safe and organized conditions.
They also urged students to continue their preparations without disruption, emphasizing that the new date of September 29 will be implemented across all examination centers in the province.
This is not the first time matric exams in Punjab have been rescheduled due to natural calamities. Earlier in the year, heavy rains had already disrupted academic calendars, pushing examination dates further.
Parents and students have expressed mixed reactions to the latest postponement—some welcome the additional preparation time, while others are concerned about the uncertainty caused by repeated delays.
