TOKYO: Pakistan’s national hockey team continued its impressive run at the Asian Games with a convincing 3-0 victory over China, securing its third consecutive win in the tournament.
All three goals came in the second quarter, as Pakistan produced an attacking display and put China under sustained pressure. Captain Abu Bakar Sufyan Khan and Hannan Shahid were among Pakistan’s standout performers as the Green Shirts found the back of the net three times.

Following the victory, Pakistan moved to nine points and currently sit second in the group. Malaysia also have nine points and remain at the top due to a superior goal difference.
Pakistan had earlier made a strong start to the tournament, defeating Thailand 9-0 before overcoming Uzbekistan 5-1.
Rana Waheed Ashraf Suspended
Pakistan faced China without forward Rana Waheed Ashraf, who had been handed a one-match suspension by the tournament organisers and the Asian Hockey Federation.
According to sources, the suspension was imposed following an incident involving a stick during Pakistan’s match against Uzbekistan.
Despite the absence of a key forward, Pakistan displayed strong teamwork and maintained control of the game to secure a comprehensive victory over China.
