LONDON: A Royal Air Force (RAF) Hawk T2 training aircraft crashed during a routine exercise in Wales, but both pilots survived the incident.
According to international news agencies, the incident occurred in Anglesey, where the Hawk T2 training aircraft, operating from RAF Valley, crashed into the ground during the flight. Videos purportedly showing the aircraft going down began circulating on social media shortly after the incident.
Officials said two pilots were on board and managed to escape the aircraft in time, either by parachute or through an emergency ejection. Both sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
Following the crash, senior RAF authorities launched an investigation into the incident. As a precautionary measure, all Hawk T1 and Hawk T2 flights and operations have been temporarily suspended pending the completion of the investigation.
