The prices of food items continue to rise, despite the decline in the prices of petroleum products.
According to a report in a private newspaper, Nestle Pakistan Limited (NPL), the manufacturer of Milkpak and Frieslandcampina Engro Pakistan Limited, the manufacturer of Olpers, announced an increase of Rs20 in the price of a liter pack, after which the price of one liter of milk of these companies has increased to 200 rupees.
The letter provided by Milkpak companies to the retail vendors did not cite any reason for the price hike. This is the reason that after the increase, the price of Olpers 250 ml tetra pack and the pouch is now Rs 55 instead of Rs 50.
Before Eid-ul-Azha, a bag of 5 and 10 kg flour was sold at Rs 400 and Rs 960, but now its price has increased from Rs 540 to Rs 550 and Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,100. The respective companies have been appointed.

Apart from this, before Eid, the price of onion was Rs 80 per kg, which has increased from Rs 90 to Rs 100 per kg, while the price of gourd, which was sold at Rs 80 to Rs 100 per kg before Eid, has gone up to Rs 200 per kg.
It is learned that during the Eid holidays, shopkeepers sold capsicum for up to Rs 400 per kg, its price has now come down to Rs 200 per kg, while it was Rs 160 per kg before Eid. Similarly, the price of okra also increased from Rs 150 per kg to Rs 200 per kg, while the price of tomato, which was sold at Rs 160 per kg during the Eid days, has reduced to Rs 80 to Rs 100 per kg.
