LAHORE: The Pakistan Poultry Association announced on Tuesday that chicken prices in Lahore have decreased due to low demand.
Currently, chicken meat is being sold at Rs470 per kg, showing a decrease of Rs78 per kg.
According to the association, over the past three weeks, there has been a significant drop of Rs227 per kg in chicken prices. The prices dropped due to a decrease in demand, prompting poultry owners to lower their prices.
Moreover, the price of chicks has also decreased, now standing at Rs100 compared to the previous Rs220.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has promised to take action against those who exploit consumers through inflated chicken prices.
The chief minister has initiated stringent measures targeting poultry farmers and traders, obtaining stock data from these stakeholders to investigate the sudden price hike.
