LAHORE: Naanbais, in defiance of the government’s notification to decrease naan and roti prices, have announced to go on a strike throughout Punjab on Wednesday.
Various associations, including those in Lahore and across Punjab, have called for the strike in protest against the provincial government’s policies.
Aftab Gul, President of the Naanbai Association in Lahore, expressed dissatisfaction with the authorities’ lack of response to their demands.
“After a month of waiting, we can wait no longer. Starting tomorrow, all tandoors across Punjab will cease operations.”

The Naanbai Association is demanding new notifications regarding bread and naan prices, arguing that the current prices do not reflect their economic realities.
They are calling for regulated naan prices and subsidized flour rates to facilitate the sale of bread at cheaper prices.
