ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has removed Sardar Latif Khosa from the position of president of People’s Lawyer Forum (PLF) after reports that the party leadership was unhappy with Latif Khosa’s recent interviews, particularly his criticism of the PDM government, especially on the PML-N’s judicial matters.

PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari has been given the additional responsibility of the People’s Lawyer Forum (PLF) president, says a notification issued in this regard.
It is important to note that Latif Khosa is a member of the Pakistan People’s Party, which is a coalition partner of the federal government. The move to remove him from the position of PLF president comes after Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and Senator Aitzaz Ahsan too removed from key posts for criticizing present coalition government.
It is also worth mentioning that Latif Khosa has been one of the most vocal critics of the recent maneuvers by the federal government, which seems to be reluctant to hold elections in KP and Punjab after the dissolution of assemblies in January.
In recent interviews on TV and social media, he had not only criticized the government’s approach of employing delaying tactics, but also described it as open treason and a blatant violation of the constitution.
Just a few days ago, Latif Khosa had revealed to reporters that the federal government had no intention of holding elections in October this year, as envisaged by the ECP, but instead, it planned to impose emergency rule and delay elections indefinitely.
