KARACHI: A policeman snatched a motorcycle from a citizen in North Nazimabad area and was caught red-handed by local residents and handed over to police.
The incident occurred at the Five Star Chowrangi in North Nazimabad area after a video of the incident. It has now been revealed that the cop was member of Sindh Police Investigations and was earlier deployed at Bilawal House.
The incident is being considered an act of robbery by the policeman but sources revealed that he targeted the citizen. Police officials said they have started probe into the incident. However, no case has been registered so far neither have efforts being made to arrest the perpetrators.
In another incident, a car stolen from Karachi was recovered by the motorway police in Hyderabad on Sunday. According to the police, the vehicle was stolen from Gulshan-e-Iqbal earlier this month after which an FIR was registered.
An investigation officer said the motorway police signaled the car to stop near Jamshoro on Sunday afternoon and chased it when it refused. The suspects managed to escape while the vehicle has been seized. Further investigations are underway.
