The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has forecasted a heatwave across the country from today until April 27, as reported by national media.
According to an advisory issued by the NDMA, rain is expected today in various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, the highest temperature in the country was recorded in Jacobabad at 43°C.
According to the advisory, temperatures were recorded as follows: Mithi, Bahawalnagar, and Nawabshah at 42°C; Karachi, Kasur, and Lasbela at 41°C; Lahore at 38°C; Islamabad at 36°C; Peshawar at 35°C; Muzaffarabad at 33°C; Quetta at 25°C; and Gilgit at 22°C.
NDMA has issued an advisory stating that a severe heatwave is expected across the country from today until April 27.
Earlier, the Meteorological Department stated that on Tuesday, the weather in most parts of the country is expected to be hot and dry. However, strong winds and thunderstorms with rain are likely in some areas of Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast, on Wednesday, the weather in most parts of the country is expected to remain hot and dry; however, the sky will be partly cloudy in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
