ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to give relief to the people regarding electricity.
He announced his decision in a tweet in which the prime minister also approved the implementation of the decision and took a basic step to save the country’s valuable foreign exchange, under the project, 10,000 megawatts of electricity will be generated from solar power instead of expensive imported fuel, in the first phase.

In government buildings, electricity and diesel-powered tubewells will be powered by solar power. PM Shahbaz Sharif has directed the early construction of solar power plants.

He also directed the relevant institutions to start work on the project on an emergency basis to provide sufficient relief in the supply of electricity to the people until the start of the upcoming summer season. A pre-bid conference has also been directed to be held next week before the bids of all stakeholders.
