News reports have emerged revealing that the Grade 9 computer science paper was leaked on social media platforms just hours before the matriculation examinations kicked off in Karachi on Tuesday.
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) finds itself grappling with the situation, unable to verify the authenticity of the leaked paper at this stage. A spokesperson for BSEK stated that investigations are underway to determine whether the circulated paper is genuine or fabricated. The uncertainty surrounding the incident has heightened tension among students and authorities.
The start of the grade 9 and 10 examinations today has been overshadowed by this unsettling development. In response, the BSEK chairman issued a stern warning to students against bringing mobile phones into examination halls, stressing that any infractions would result in the confiscation of devices.
During the ongoing examination process, science group papers are being administered in the morning shift, with general group papers scheduled for the second shift. The decision to conduct examinations in two shifts aims to ensure a smooth and efficient process for all students.
This year, BSEK introduced online admit cards, allowing students easier access to crucial examination information, including their designated examination centers. Those who submit their examination forms online can conveniently print their admit cards, facilitating a streamlined examination experience.
However, for students who missed the initial deadline for exam form submission, there is still an opportunity to do so until May 10, albeit with a late fee of Rs 3,500. The spokesperson clarified that examinations missed during this period will be rescheduled and conducted at a later date to ensure that no student is disadvantaged due to administrative constraints.
As investigations into the alleged paper leak continue, BSEK remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the integrity and fairness of the examination process, ensuring that students’ academic pursuits are safeguarded against any irregularities or malpractices.
