Pakistani ship carrying 80 million liters of diesel crosses Strait of Hormuz

A Pakistani vessel carrying a large shipment of fuel has successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz after receiving special permission from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to local media reports.

The ship, carrying approximately 80 million liters of diesel, passed through the strategically vital waterway and has now entered the Gulf of Oman. It is expected to reach Karachi Port within the next two to three days, officials from the Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) said.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important maritime chokepoints, connecting the Persian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

Nearly one-fifth of global oil trade passes through this narrow passage, making it critical for international energy supplies and global economic stability. Any disruption in the strait can massively impact global oil prices and shipping routes.

PM petrol subsidy extended for a month

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved a one-month extension of the fuel subsidy for motorcyclists, public transport operators, and goods transporters, aiming to maintain relief efforts amid economic strain linked to the Middle East crisis. He also instructed authorities to prevent any increase in passenger and freight transport fares, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
