LAHORE: Pakistan’s women’s cricket team will begin its new journey in the ICC Women’s Championship with a series against Sri Lanka.
According to the details, the three-match ODI series between the two teams will start on June 1, with the remaining two matches to be played on June 3 and 5. All these matches between the teams will be played at Southend Club, Karachi.
It may be recalled that both the teams will arrive in Karachi on May 19 to participate in the series where the T20 series between the two teams will start after a three-day training session. The three T20 Internationals of the series will be played on May 24, 26, and 28.

It should be noted that this is the third edition of the ICC Women’s Championship. Pakistan finished seventh in the preliminary edition of the championship played in 2014-15 and fifth in the second edition. In the 2017-20 edition, Pakistan got a better position than New Zealand, West Indies, and Sri Lanka.
In this regard, the captain of the national team Bismillah Maroof said that it is an honour to play the matches of the ICC Women’s Championship in his country. She expressed that he is very excited to welcome Sri Lanka.
He said that he is looking forward to a fresh start to his cricket season through this series. It is certain that the national women’s cricket team will perform well in the series.
