The national team is set to tour Sri Lanka for the Test and ODI series in July-August this year and will extend its tour for the T20 Asia Cup, which starts in the first week of September.
The crisis comes at a time when the country is in default on its 51 billion external debt. Pakistan and Sri Lanka will play two Tests and three ODIs in the series just before the Asia Cup, but the dates and venues will be decided later.
It is worth mentioning here that Pakistan has a packed schedule for the next 12 months as Pakistan will play a series of three ODIs hosted by West Indies in June before the Sri Lanka series and Asia Cup.
It is expected that Pakistan will also participate in two mega-events next year, including the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia and the 2023 ODI World Cup in India. The national team will play against Afghanistan, Netherlands, England and New Zealand.
It should be noted that at the end of this month, Pakistan ended the full home series against Australia in which Australia won the Test match and T20 while Pakistan won the ODI.
Last week, the Pakistan Cricket Board lifted the ban on corona virus, including the biosecure bubble, during the upcoming West Indies series as the country’s infection rate has dropped significantly.
After completing the tour of Sri Lanka, Pakistan will also host England for 7 Twenty20 matches before the World Cup in Australia this year.
