KARACHI: Investigators have obtained data related to slain Karachi trader Mir Raza’s Binance account and cryptocurrency activity, which is expected to reveal the number of transactions he made each day over the past six months.
According to details, a significant development has emerged in the investigation into the Mir Raza case. The National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has obtained his complete Binance and cryptocurrency data for the last six months.
A multi-page report containing the victim’s cryptocurrency data, along with a report similar to a call data record (CDR), has also been submitted to the investigation committee and the judicial commission.
Police officials have formally requested the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to conduct a detailed analysis of the technical data. The request was made because of the complexity of the information, which needs to be decoded and presented in simpler, more understandable terms.
According to police sources, cryptocurrency data received from abroad is highly technical and cannot be easily interpreted by regular police officers. Coding experts at the NCCIA are therefore analysing the data to determine the relevant details.
The analysis is expected to establish how many cryptocurrency transactions Mir Raza made on a daily basis during the six-month period.
A soft copy of the obtained data has already been shared with all relevant authorities. The NCCIA is expected to provide the police with a complete analysis of the data by tomorrow.
