ISLAMABAD: The technology world is turning its attention to Apple’s highly anticipated launch event today, where the company is expected to unveil its next-generation iPhone models along with several other new devices. This year’s event carries the tagline “Surprise and Shine.”
Apple’s special event will begin at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on September 9, which is 10:00 p.m. Pakistan Standard Time (PKT). Pakistani viewers will be able to watch the event live through Apple’s website, Apple TV, and YouTube.
What to Expect from the iPhone 18
Apple has not officially revealed details of the products it plans to announce. However, various reports suggest that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could be among the main highlights of the event.
The company is also expected to unveil its long-rumored first foldable iPhone, which could potentially be marketed as the iPhone Ultra.
According to reports, Apple may also change its traditional iPhone launch strategy this year. The standard iPhone 18 and other more affordable models could reportedly be launched in spring 2027 instead of September, allowing the current event to focus primarily on premium devices.
What Could Be New in the iPhone 18 Pro?
The iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to feature Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro chip, reportedly manufactured using a 2-nanometer process.
Other rumored upgrades include improvements to the camera system, a potentially smaller Dynamic Island, better battery performance, and changes to the Camera Control feature.
Meanwhile, the rumored foldable iPhone could mark one of the biggest design changes in the iPhone lineup in years. Reports suggest that the device may feature a book-style folding design, allowing it to offer a larger display when unfolded.
New Apple Watch and AirPods Also Expected
The event is unlikely to focus solely on iPhones. Apple is also expected to introduce the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4, while new AirPods could also be unveiled.
The company may also announce release dates for its upcoming software updates, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate.
For Pakistani consumers, attention will also be on the international prices of the new devices, their availability in the local market, PTA taxes, and their expected retail prices in Pakistan.
Although Apple does not operate its own retail stores in Pakistan, new iPhones generally become available in the country through authorized and other local channels following their international launch.
Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event will begin at 10:00 p.m. Pakistan time on September 9, with viewers able to watch the launch live through the company’s official online platforms.
