ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari has lamented that permission given to PIA for special flights to two countries has been suspended due to the COVID-19.
Shireen Mazari shared the news on twitter in which she wrote, “Sadly due to sharp spike of COVID 19 cases in the UK and Canada GOP has now withdrawn permission given to PIA for special flights to these 2 countries.”

Earlier she announced that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was planning to operate 6 special flights to take stranded UK citizens back to the UK beginning from 27th March i.e. today which has been postponed.
Through suspending these flights, the spread of the coronavirus can be halted which can spread as the passengers would travel from one country to another. The coronavirus has spread to more than 190 countries around the world, including Pakistan.
It should be remembered that the number of coronaviruses infected in Pakistan has already exceeded 1200. The government’s static regarding coronavirus cases showed that the Sindh and Punjab provinces have remained the worst affected regions in the country, Sindh reported a total of 421 cases, while; Punjab witnessed a total of 408 cases of coronavirus.
