Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Ali Larijani has responded to Trump’s threats to hit Iran’s electricity network, saying that “the whole region will go dark” if Washington follows through on the threats.
“Trump has said ‘we can take apart Iran’s electric capacity within one hour, but we have not done it’,” Larijani said in a post on X.
“Well, if they do that, the whole region will go dark in less than half an hour and darkness provides ample opportunity to hunt down US servicemen running for safety.”
The US president has said Washington has so far held off on attacking electricity production sites in Iran, but was prepared to strike such targets if Tehran attempted to cut off global oil supplies.
