SHEIKHUPURA: A tragic incident has been reported in Sheikhupura, Punjab, where 12-year-old domestic worker Zainab died following alleged physical abuse at the hands of her employers. The incident has sparked outrage in the area, with the bereaved family demanding swift and strict justice.
According to police sources, Zainab had been working as a domestic helper at the residence of Chaudhry Riffaqat on Khalid Road for approximately one and a half years.
The victim’s family has levelled serious allegations against the household’s female employer, claiming that she became angry over a minor issue and brutally beat the child with sticks. The family alleges that Zainab succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
Police Launch Investigation
Following the incident, local police arrived at the scene and took custody of the child’s body. The body was subsequently shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination and other medico-legal formalities.
Police officials said one suspect had been arrested in connection with the child’s death, while raids were being conducted to apprehend other suspects who remain at large.
According to police, an investigation is underway to examine all aspects of the case. Authorities have stated that those found responsible will be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
