MUMBAI: Police have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, with three suspects arrested in Rajasthan, according to Indian media reports. The suspects have allegedly been linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, although police have not officially confirmed any direct connection.
According to reports, the suspects were allegedly attempting to flee by train when police detained them at a railway station in Kota, Rajasthan. Two of the arrested individuals are reportedly from Haryana, while the third is from Bihar.
How Were the Suspects Arrested?
Indian media reports say investigators traced the movements of the suspects during the probe into the shooting before carrying out the arrests in Rajasthan.
The operation was reportedly conducted on the basis of information provided by Mumbai Police. Investigators are examining the suspects’ alleged roles in the attack, the possible planning behind the shooting and whether other individuals helped facilitate the incident.
When Did the Firing Incident Take Place?
The firing at Tiger Shroff’s car took place on October 18 in Mumbai’s Juhu area. According to media reports, the actor was leaving after playing football when unidentified armed men allegedly opened fire at his vehicle.
Tiger Shroff escaped without gunshot injuries. However, two people, including his driver, Firdaus, were reportedly injured in the incident. Mumbai Police subsequently registered a case and launched an investigation.
Alleged Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Connection Under Investigation
Following the shooting, messages surfaced on social media claiming responsibility for the attack and alleging links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Messages attributed to Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu also referred to the incident.
A purported audio recording reportedly included a demand for Salman Khan to apologise to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community. A separate message allegedly threatened members of the Mumbai film industry who continued to work with Khan.
However, the authenticity of these messages and the audio recording has not been independently verified. Police have also not confirmed a direct connection between the attack on Tiger Shroff and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Police Probe Continues as Investigators Seek Answers
Mumbai Police are examining available evidence to establish the motive behind the shooting. The investigation is focusing on the suspects’ alleged involvement, the planning of the attack and any possible links to organised crime.
A key question is whether the shooting stemmed from a personal or professional dispute or was connected to a wider criminal network. The motive and the suspects’ alleged associations are expected to become clearer as investigators examine the evidence and advance the probe.
